Feeling the anticipation of doing a few really neat venues this year as well.

Last week I had the honor of sharing the stage with my old friend Vince Herman last Thursday (4/08/2010) and his band The Great American Taxi from Colorado! Vince has been kind enough to allow me to learn and grow as a musician forging through the hot sounds he and his band plays. For that I am so deeply grateful for any opportunity I get to sit in with those super talented fellas! Below are some pics of the show @ The Red Stone Room in Davenport, IA

Saturday 4/10/2010 I had the opportunity of sitting in with Mr. Baber’s Neighbors- The Solar String Band (MBN-TSSB) as they opened for The Nadas CD release @ The Fine Line in Minniapolis, MN (pics will be posted as I receive them. Thank you to the “Baberhood” for another night of Bluegrass BLISS!

Thanks to The Great American Taxi for letting me sit in @ The Red Stone Room in Davenport, IA. Also a huge thanks to Vince Herman for pickin’ the night away-

Since the concert ended- we needed another place to go-

One spot for the after-party kept being brought up by all which was a venue that I shared a few times. so after packing up- we crossed the bridge to Moline, IL- and drove straight to BENT RIVER BREWERY. The boys took the boat across the Mississippi River and walked over- The fellas at BRB were so awesome in their hospitality and the fans that caught the show stuck around for the pickin’. Vince and I just thrashed, mashed and trashed a fury of bluegrass tunes into the night—with a speed one rarely hears.
Many of Vince’s fans were in such awe as he belted or played one tune after another- “It’s like we’re having our own private concert!” many said through the night. The interaction of musicianship, fun, and unity through music was something I sure hope to get to pick again soon with Vince Herman and The Great American Taxi.

Chasing the sun till 5 am. Those that saw it—are probably STILL recovering now…Tonight @ 9pm I will have the honor of sharing the stage with Bob Black doing a unique concert of bluegrass standards and originals. This will take place at the Kalona Bluegrass Festival @ Windmill Ridge.

Windmill Ridge is 2 miles S and one mile W of Kalona.Press and more information on this event can be found HERE
